Website, alerts and phone app redesign

Ents24 is a live entertainment website that provides listings and information, and directs visitors to tickets for events encompassing live music, clubbing, cinema, theatre, arts, days out and stand-up comedy.

Website redesign

The existing website and supporting products had an outdated design, were not responsive, and lacked consistency across touchpoints such as email alerts and mobile apps.
Users found it difficult to browse listings or manage alerts effectively, particularly on mobile devices.

The goals were to:

  • Modernise the look and feel of the brand.

  • Improve responsiveness and accessibility across devices.

  • Increase user engagement and conversion rates.

  • Create a more cohesive cross-channel experience between web, email, and app.

The Process

Working in an agile environment, I collaborated closely with developers and product owners to deliver an MVP and iteratively improve it.

Key activities included:

  • Conducting user interviews and analysing user behaviour to identify usability pain points.

  • Producing wireframes and prototypes for responsive layouts and updated navigation.

  • Introducing a new design system and brand guidelines for visual consistency.

  • Running A/B tests and a beta launch to validate design changes and track performance metrics.

Email Alerts Redesign

The Ents24 alerts system notifies users when tracked artists or venues announce new events.
I redesigned the alert emails to:

  • Improve readability and visual hierarchy.

  • Enhance mobile compatibility.

  • Made actions and user behaviour trackable, enabling the team to measure user interactions, such as clicks on event links or ticket purchases.

This led to a measurable increase in engagement and ticket conversions, providing actionable insights for the marketing team.

Gigalerts App Redesign

In parallel, I redesigned the Gigalerts Android app, which provides mobile alerts for tracked artists.

The new design improved:

  • Accessibility and performance, ensuring compatibility with AA standards.

  • Ease of navigation, with clearer information architecture and event details.

  • User satisfaction, reflected in improved app store feedback.

I also designed two new features, Boost Buttons and GIF Finder, expanding user interaction and event-sharing capabilities.
